Before you upload a scan, here's everything we'd want to know ourselves.
Is this a medical test?
No. Nub theory and skull theory are folklore-based methods that look at your scan photo, not medical diagnostics. The reliable ways to find out are a mid-pregnancy anomaly scan, a NIPT blood test, or your sonographer telling you directly. We're entertainment for the wait in between.
How accurate is it, really?
It depends heavily on how clear your scan is and how far along you were when it was taken, real research bears that out, and we've written up what that research actually says. If Kay can't reach 75% confidence on your particular image, we tell you honestly rather than rounding up, and you're not charged.
What if my scan photo isn't clear enough?
That happens, angle, timing and image quality all matter. If it's too unclear for Kay to call with confidence, that's exactly what the 75% threshold is for: you get an honest "we can't call this one" instead of a guess, and a full refund.
How long will it take to get my result?
If you submit on a weekday, you'll have it within 24 hours. Submit over a weekend and it'll be within 72 hours. Either way, it comes by email.
What happens to my scan photo afterwards?
It's permanently deleted 48 hours after your assessment is complete, whether or not you were charged. Full detail is on our privacy page.
Will you share my email or other details with anyone?
No. Your details stay with the small team who prepares your reading, full stop, no third parties, no marketing lists.
Do you only work for UK customers?
For now, yes. It's a £5 GBP service via Shopify and UK-only while we're small.
Who is Kay?
Kay's our predictor, the one who actually reads every scan against nub theory and skull theory and turns them into your confidence score. You can read a bit more about why we built this the way we did on our Care & Support page.
Can someone else upload the scan on my behalf?
Yes, that's fine, a partner or family member can submit it, as long as it's your own family's scan and whoever's uploading has the pregnant person's OK. That's what the confirmation on the order form is checking.
What's the difference between this and NIPT or the 20-week scan?
Those are the medically reliable options. NIPT is a blood test, and the 20-week anomaly scan is read by a qualified sonographer, both are far more dependable than folklore. We're a £5 bit of fun for people who don't want to wait, not a replacement for either.
Can I get a refund if I just change my mind?
Once Kay's started on your reading, our one automatic refund trigger is confidence under 75%, we can't offer a general change-of-mind refund after that point. If something's gone wrong with your order, get in touch through the details on your confirmation email and we'll sort it out.
This pregnancy, or getting here, hasn't been easy for us. Is there anything for that?
